NYCxDESIGN logoSpark Design Professionals is proud to announce that it is participating in New York City’s inaugural citywide event which showcases and promotes design of all disciplines. NYCxDESIGN takes place throughout the five boroughs from May 10 to 21.

Hosted in the world’s design capital, the 12-day event brings together culture, education, commerce and entertainment with a full, varied program, including exhibitions, installations, trade shows, talks, launches and open studios. NYCxDESIGN spans all disciplines of design, from graphic and product design to architecture and fashion, digital and urban design to furniture and design thinking. The event creates a platform for cultural and commercial opportunities, elevates established and emerging design practices and increases awareness of and appreciation for design by all audiences.

“We’re very excited that Spark Design Professionals is participating in such an important design event that is hosting some of the most talented and impressive designers in the world,” said Larissa Montecoullo, Spark Design Professionals President. “Over the past few years, we have hosted the most well-respected graphic design professionals which our members learn from for the benefit of their own design businesses,” she continued.

Spark will be hosting two events that speak directly to graphic design business owners. The events feature guest speakers Emily Cohen, a nationally recognized design firm and creative department consultant on May 13th as well as Peter Buchanan-Smith, a renowned graphic designer turned product designer on May 15th.

Emily will speak about qualifying clients and discuss the tips and tools for getting the leads a successful design firm wants. The process will ensure new clients are the right fit for the graphic design firm. Peter, of Best Made Company, will discuss his expansion from graphic design to product development and how his new business has altered his perspectives on design and business.
